Post 243: Fourth of July

The husband and I are still adjusting to baby life. Usually, for the 4th we take the 8 hour drive south to be with family on the lake in Oklahoma. This year we couldn't pull it together so we stayed home and enjoyed the local festivities. The Babe loved every second of it despite the fact he had only one short nap yesterday. He is quite the people watcher and loved watching all of the other kids play. Sometimes he would join in with a little hoot or squeal.

I was excited to play with different settings on the new camera.
We drove to a small town just north of here expecting something small. The firework show ended up lasting an ENTIRE hour!

Lucas was enthralled. By the end of it all we had him saying a new word. "BOOM!"I was so delighted that he really enjoyed it. It makes my heart happy to show him new fun things in this world.
I am ready to do it all over again next year!

Post 181: Happy 4th of July Weekend!!

Happy 4th of July to all my fellow American bloggers! I hope you all have a lovely weekend full of festivities. This will be my first Independence Day celebrated away from family. I have decided I am too pregnant for the 8 hour drive. Sooo I will be celebrating by painting my master bedroom and straightening the house for the arrival of Luke and the in-laws.

Post 39: Independence Day!

So tonight I am on my way out of town to be with my family for the short holiday. The 4th is always our biggest celebration of the year so I am always verrrry excited, making it my favorite holiday!
(My little sister Kenzie, on left, and a couple of our cousins 2008)
We always spend it on the lake with the bazillion people in our extended family...but this year I am not so sure. I leave tonight and I still do not know if I will be heading to Oklahoma or Kansas! Why? Because my 8 year old little brother thinks he is a daredevil!

He ripped his patella tendon playing last weekend so the poor little guy had to have surgery. :( Therefore, I will be wherever he decides he wants to go so that I may properly spoil him, as I do all of my younger siblings!

This also means I will be gone for a few days! When I get back I will be catching up on my posts and all that good stuff OOOHH and I will also be drawing for my lovely giveaway so don't forget to comment on the post!!! Click the link at the top of the page to enter!
