And my favorite part...the fabric! Yum!Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Post 166: Bragging
I think this pincushion is SO adorable! It is so tiny!
A lovely bundle of fabric and lace. I already have plans to use it for some little bits for baby!
Lastly, the most fantastical fortune teller/cootie catcher ever! It has me giggling to myself for quite awhile. :D
And, Since I have been promising to share the house treasures with you here is the first of many. The old owners left us this gem. It is a record player/radio in SUPER condition. Not even a scratch (except some small scuffs along the bottom). It has two working tube speakers which sound better than any stereo I have ever heard. I only wish I could play MP3s or CDs on it hehe.
I do have quite the record collection so i still have selection. But you really don't understand the quality of sound that comes out of this dinosaur! I love it. You must also take note of the groovy green shag carpet (covered in wall paper scraps). I will be sharing more about my trip to 1968 later! ;pFriday, March 26, 2010
Post 165: I'm Back!
It is fabulously 1968 in this house even down to the Green and gold flecked damask-ish wall paper to the working Nutone intercom system that my husband finds great joy in. I have been peeling wall paper for days and it is about time to start painting!
I will be fairly busy but I hope to start posting pictures of the treasures I come across in this little adventure!

156: Makin' Thangs.
Post 155: Chickens
I am learning that there are so many options on what kinds of chickens to get. And I feel like it may take me some time to pull this together but I am excited either way. Have any of you raised chickens before? I am not looking to eat the actual chickens....just the eggs. I will only start with a few to see if I enjoy it or get the hang of it. Do you have any suggestions, tips, or recommendations? Thanks!

Post 152: Lookin' Out My Backdoor....soon
We will have over 9 acres of this stuff and our land is surrounded by a nature preserve so I have tons of exploring to do!
You can't see all the big beautiful windows since the deck is in the way but I will be getting better pictures once we move. I think this is going to be a FANTASTIC place for Adam and I to raise our future children, I can't wait!
March 15th it is all ours! Oh, and the street name is Singing Woods. How great is that?Monday, February 8, 2010

Post 130: One Step Closer!
I am excited! I am stressed! I am nervous! And above all I am exhausted but things will NOT be slowing down for at least a few more months. I think summer 2010 calls for a LOOOONG RELAXING vacation.

Post 127: Drew Carey shouldn't be the host of anything.
(Someone loves Drew, or they had Jury Duty in Peoria County)
They managed to cram 70-something people in a room to wait and see if any of us were going to be a jury on the 2 traffic cases they had that day....2 traffic cases = 24 jurors why call all of us in? I was on Panel 86 they surely didn't need me! Then around Noon they informed us that our services weren't needed I was off the hook 'whew'.

Aaaanywho, what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving?! Tomorrow evening I will be driving to Wichita, Kansas to spend Thanksgiving with the fam and to celebrate Christmas while I am there, since I will be in Virginia at that time (we schedule things in our own time and move holidays if necessary). I am SO excited to give the kiddos their gifts! They are at that fun age Eli(brother), 8 Makenzie(sister), 7 Briley(sister), 3 Aiden (nephew), 3 annnd Nate (brother), 11 months! I REALLY tried doing an entirely handmade Christmas but I didn't make it :(. I have been trying to keep my house in order in case the realtor makes a surprise stop by the house...well, enough rambling. Hope you all have a FANTASTIC Week(end)!
PS I also had 2 Etsy orders this week!! woo woo!

Post 118: Is it seriously Friday?
This looks like it would make for the perfect weekend, full of sunshine, sleep, and maybe a good book.
But this looks more like reality....
Buuut someones got to do it. At least I will get to enjoy the feeling of accomplishment once I am finished!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Post 117: Waiting and Wishing
I honestly think this 'preserve' is bogus and will eventually be turned into a housing compound soon enough, but that is me being a pessimist. Although the house is not mine, and MAY never be I cannot help but daydream about the things I would LOVE to have for such a fantastic mid-century home. Daydreaming is always fun right? (fingers crossed)
Click images to visit the shops!
I love this, not only because it is fabulous, but it reminds me of the infamous green couch in our first apartment . :)

Thes green chairs are great *drool* as well as EVERYTHING else in this shop!

I am in love with this lamp.

I looove this and its gray! (Gray and I are having a love affair.) This shop is also chock full of fantastic mid-century modern furnature. (p.s. i love the Tabasco ad)

With the house being out in the woods this would be just perfect!

And I would like to throw this in for good measure since it is where I REALLY want to be :). Cute huh? (If you love this there are a few other states in this lovely print collect just click the image)
Now who wants to donate to my shopping fund?!? :p

Post 114:
(this back yard is what sold him on this 'dream home.' It goes on for several acres)Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Christmas is well on its way and I have the biggest family in the world, aaaand I am attempting the impossible by making everything by hand (and buying a few things from Etsy of course). To give you an idea I am only one of 6 siblings and my parents are divorced, remarried and I am also an aunt! (and I haven't even touched on the husbands family) Soo, there you have it, that is my excuse. So starting this week I may be a little slow with entries but I will try to keep it interesting...hopefully!
