Post 199: Sweet & Simple

So, I have to admit, as much as I LOVE old photos I have VERY few from my family's past. I have plenty from my husband's family, and a ton that the previous owners of my house left behind but just a handful from my own family. Which makes me sad. I believe it has a lot to do with the fact that my grandmother's house burnt down just before she passed and a lot of history was lost. Today an Aunt of mine shared this picture with me and I love it. LOVE really is not a strong enough word for the feelings I have for this picture.
My Great Grandma "Shorty" Grace is on the right and her sister Ruthie on the left. They are so beautiful!
I remember going to Grandma Shorty's where she would fill my days with sweet tea, flowers, westerns, and bird watching. Her sister Ruthie lived right across the street and would come over for coffee in the backyard. It was sweet. It was simple. I long for a life full of sweet and simple and hope that Lucas and my future children can find sweet and simple and savor it the way I did.
