WELCOME HOME GUS!

Gus is a hybrid dog called a "Daug" and is 1/2 Pug 1/2 Daschund. I acquired him over Memorial Day weekend as an Anniversary gift from my lovely husband! Anywho, I was excited and needed to share. Once I get him trained and settled in I will be back to blogging and Etsy-ing!

I also posted a new clutch last night and hope to get another up today, check out my Etsy.

Post 20: Featured Artist!

Several months ago I was wasting time, as I usually do, and I came across a website that made plush toys. These weren't just ANY plush toys, but they were custom toys designed from children's drawings. For somewhere around $200.00 you could send your child's drawing in and have a custom plush made from it....Sooo I thought this was a GENIUS idea, and since I have many lovely kiddos in my life I have decided to give it a try.

The "artist" I have chosen for my first project is my totally awesome nephew Aidan!
Aidan loves scary clowns, snowmen, monsters, dressing up and being scary. He is quite the character! And lately he has apparently been on a Frankenstein kick!

Frankenstein!:

Frank with Freckles and Stitches:

And last but not least my personal favorite (and the one I think I will use for this project)
Weird guy with chin hair and a crazy hat!:

I was so excited I had to share. I think any of you who sew and have little artists in your life should give it a shot, I am sure it will be loved no matter how it turns out :).

(Thanks to my sister-in-law Katie for the pics!)

Post 18: I've been tagged!

I was tagged by Hello Lindello/Hello Victory who also happens to have a lovely Etsy shop chock full of great vintage must haves (like the vintage supplies seen above)! Check it out!

So here are the rules...
The tag is ALWAYS & NEVERS • list "5 fashion always-es"• {things you always like or cannot do without}• for you personally• conversely, list "5 fashion nevers"• {things you would not be caught dead in}• for you personally• then tag 3 bloggers
A L W A Y S
  1. Dangly Earrings...Always, always. I LOVE to wear really pretty dangly earrings with really casual clothes. For me it adds an extra touch of unexpected girly that I always love.
  2. Straightener. I love my straight hair but it can never be too straight. I am a bit obsessive about it.
  3. Plain tanks/crew neck fitted tees this way any accessory is acceptable!
  4. Layers. I always layer my tops and I always will. I feel naked without layers.
  5. C.O. Bigelow tinted peppermint lip gloss...if you have not tried it I urge you to go to Bath & Body Works and buy some today.

N E V E R

  1. Glitter.
  2. Embellished "Fashion" Jeans...yuck yuck yuck ew yuck.
  3. Butterfly accessories/accents etc. (Stemming from my distaste for Mariah Carey.)
  4. Chokers.
  5. Fake Nails.

I am tagging Folk Craft! , Gemma Joy, and Bella Cene

Post 16: This is how i craft...(with a sneak peak!)

...This is how i craft, this is how, this is how, this is how i craft...All on a small ironing board...

I have all the space in the world, my husband even bought me a nice size table but I still do it all on my ironing board. It seems quite messy and unorganized for being the OCD neat freak that I am. But with my system I can iron, cut, paste, and do everything except use the actual sewing machine here....(and I guarantee you if it weren't to heavy for the ironing board I would do it.) I am convinced I am more able to create while i stand at my rickety old ironing board. While I have created a lot of lovely things here, it has also proven quite dangerous with the iron, heh, but I refuse to change my ways. Do you, my fellow crafters, do anything like this?

S N E A K P E A K !!
oooooooooo!
Here is a glimpse at a couple of clutches I will be posting on my Etsy soon! Be sure to check back!

Post 15: Dedos de fantasía bordado!

So, lately it has been far too beautiful outside to sit inside at my sewing machine. Naturally, I still had those irrisistable urges to craft! So I drew this out and embroidered it onto some bright goldenrod cotton fabric. (While enjoying the great outdoors!) Of course, it isnt quite finished but I hope to be posting it on Etsy very soon!
Once it is complete it will be a lovely piece of wall art! And I still have yet to decide what word I am going to embroider on the scroll.

With this last pic I was trying to some of the sugar skull detail but my camara did not want to cooperate!

Any thoughts? Suggestions for the scroll? Thanks for checking it out folks!
