Post 109: No Ordinary Apple

Okay, so I am a bit of a complainer. I hate the cold. (When I say hate I mean absolutely despise.) I am not a big fan of fall because it is a sign of what is to come. I have lived in Illinois for 3 years now and I still have not yet become accustomed to all the snow and ice and below zero winters. Buuut, I must say, Illinois does have the most beautiful fall I have ever seen. The leaves are GLOWING red, orange and yellow! I am also enjoying fall much more this week since the sun has finally showed up and it has been in the mid 60s. The discovery of Cinnamon Apple Tea has also been fantastic....soooo i might not hate fall so much after all. :)

And as a tribute to fall, apples, and this delicious tea I made this today! [Sorry for the poor pics I have been really lazy with the cam these days :( ]
And the embroidery detail "No ordinary apple" (I got a little inspiration from the movie/story Snow White).....aaand here is the other side
It also has a tiny apple embroidered on the flap with a nice big red button! Aaand it is lined in a dark brown satin :D
And I have a bit of a dilemma! I cannot decide if I want to gift it, keep it, or try and sell it on my Etsy!

Post 47: SNEAK PEEK and some other stuff

Soooo this weekend I actually sat down and sewed my butt off! I got a few things done and I am in love with ALL of them...part of me doesn't want to sell them but I must share my creations with the world! ha. annnd here is a peak...
I will post them on my Etsy once I name all of them and write descriptions...which I like to put some thought and creativity into as well....maybe just a little too much, oh well.

I also have to mention this little tchotchke I found while thrifting. I was going to sell them but I have already claimed them as my redheaded children and they look so beautiful on a shelf in my living room...

When I found them they were all gross and dirty but they washed up nice and the colors are so vibrant! (my husband still thinks I am nuts for buying them) They also spin and play music annnnd it randomly breaks out in song throughout the day which is pretty creepy at times.
Well I must get going even though I still have a bazillion things I want to say. I got some great pictures at the fair last night that I hope to share later today!

Post 16: This is how i craft...(with a sneak peak!)

...This is how i craft, this is how, this is how, this is how i craft...All on a small ironing board...

I have all the space in the world, my husband even bought me a nice size table but I still do it all on my ironing board. It seems quite messy and unorganized for being the OCD neat freak that I am. But with my system I can iron, cut, paste, and do everything except use the actual sewing machine here....(and I guarantee you if it weren't to heavy for the ironing board I would do it.) I am convinced I am more able to create while i stand at my rickety old ironing board. While I have created a lot of lovely things here, it has also proven quite dangerous with the iron, heh, but I refuse to change my ways. Do you, my fellow crafters, do anything like this?

S N E A K P E A K !!
oooooooooo!
Here is a glimpse at a couple of clutches I will be posting on my Etsy soon! Be sure to check back!
