Post 114:

I hate those moments you are left dangling in between two options and you have to wait and see how things go....I HATE not knowing what is next!
My husband and I are considering moving. And for some reason buying our second house has me MUCH more restless, anxious, and nervous than I was when we bought our first, 2.5 years ago.I cannot sleep, I cannot think, and I feel on edge and have a stomach full of butterflies! ugh.

(this back yard is what sold him on this 'dream home.' It goes on for several acres)

I am in love with the house we are currently considering but I will be so sad to leave our first home!
We went through a lot in the past two years (maybe more bad than good) but I feel like a traitor to leave this home behind! It was a diamond in the rough when we bought it and now that it is where I want it to be I am letting it go. I am blaming on my father. I inherited the gene where I cannot relax after a completed project....it is time for a new one. Go, go, go!

Post 114: Man Gift.

I bought one of these and I am soooo excited for its arrival! The one I purchased will be a gift for Grandpa BUT once Christmas gets a wee bit closer I WILL be getting one for the husband (I have to wait because I can't keep gifts and I can't keep my own secrets...).

I mentioned it in a couple posts earlier but I cannot tell you how PERFECT this is for the men in my life. It is a great steampunk piece buuuut even better for all of those gear-head car/boat/engine, mans man kind of guys that you can NEVER seem to find gifts for on Etsy!

This lovely little number is actually a ceramic piece coated with metal and made to rust. Which I think is genius. Have I mentioned I am completely in love with Ms. Puff? sigh.

Post 113: Custom Order Complete!

Sooo this weekend I finished up and sent off my first custom order! I really enjoyed making this diaper bag! I think just knowing that I was making it for an actual person gave me that tingly feeling. :) I had my husband help me take a couple of pictures and lets just say he isn't much of a photographer, I was lucky to find one that didn't have a finger in it! hehe The interior is a nice bubble gum pink oil cloth that can easily be cleaned. and there are several pockets that make this perfect for Mrs. Amanda's Baby Bug!

Just a reminder that LOVE LOOOVE doing custom orders. I sit and imagine the people they are going to and take my time to make them extra, extra beautiful. Annnnd I am more than willing to work with you to reach a price that you would be happy with. Just convo me at Redplanet.etsy.com.

Post 112: Busy Busy Busy

This week is NUTS! And I just might go crazy! Buuut although things are a bit hectic I have still found the time to fall in love with a few things on Etsy... (click on images for more info!)

You really have NO idea how in love I am with this neckwarmer...(along with everything else in this shop)

I think this would be a perfect little personalized gift for my gear head husband! (made by one of my favorite ladies in the world, Puff!)

I cannot stop thinking about how much i love these screen printed fabrics...sighI could go on forever but I have a socialy retarded pup who has a class to get too! Wish me luck with the reformation! ;p

Post 111: Happy Weekend!

These ladybugs have taken over my house! When the sun comes out I feel like I live in a cloud of ladybugs. Which isn't nearly as fantastic as it sounds. While they are pretty, ladybugs are still bugs. hehe.
I caught this little pretty little lady crawling around outside. :)

Anybody have any great weekend plans? The man thinks he has found his dream home so we might entertain that idea by spending saturday at the bank....it really is an unbeliveable home, but I am hesitant.

Post 110: So We Are Adding a Bathroom...

The man and I have decided the time has come to add a bathroom to our humble home. Someone started adding one some 20 years ago, installed an exhaust fan and it never made it any further than that. Soooo what is now our awkward 7'x8' catch all room will soon be our lovely little second bath, thank goodness! I was looking for inspiration for our small space but these pictures have me daydreaming of the day we win the lottery (that we dont play)...

I am in love with this. Is it a pool? Is it a tub? Both?! Would you ever be able to leave this space?
And this bathroom looks so warm, cozy, and homey....sigh I love white, and I also love large open windows near beautiful bathtubs....which means I need to move to a more remote location... (at least my neighbors would probably think so)
I love the chandelier in the bathroom look....but looking through pics it definitely has to be done right or it just looks silly.

Well I have to get started on prepping the room for the plumber and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be toooo outrageous!

Post 109: No Ordinary Apple

Okay, so I am a bit of a complainer. I hate the cold. (When I say hate I mean absolutely despise.) I am not a big fan of fall because it is a sign of what is to come. I have lived in Illinois for 3 years now and I still have not yet become accustomed to all the snow and ice and below zero winters. Buuut, I must say, Illinois does have the most beautiful fall I have ever seen. The leaves are GLOWING red, orange and yellow! I am also enjoying fall much more this week since the sun has finally showed up and it has been in the mid 60s. The discovery of Cinnamon Apple Tea has also been fantastic....soooo i might not hate fall so much after all. :)

And as a tribute to fall, apples, and this delicious tea I made this today! [Sorry for the poor pics I have been really lazy with the cam these days :( ]
And the embroidery detail "No ordinary apple" (I got a little inspiration from the movie/story Snow White).....aaand here is the other side
It also has a tiny apple embroidered on the flap with a nice big red button! Aaand it is lined in a dark brown satin :D
And I have a bit of a dilemma! I cannot decide if I want to gift it, keep it, or try and sell it on my Etsy!

Post 105: So I forgot to tell you...

I got my little print cards in the mail a couple of weeks ago! They were another item I thought that USPS managed to devour buuut just a minor (and cute;) ) address mix up. So after making a couple of trips between Illinois and Oklahoma they made it safely and as beautiful as ever!

I won these cards off of a blog awhile back and ever since then I have had my eye on some of Miss Emma's prints. They are so lovely. I cannot tell you how much I love them!

Annd they are soooo reasonably priced. Right now her 8.5 x 11 prints are ONLY $12.00!

Can't decide which print to get? Thats ok because you can get a set of three cards of your choice for $10! I suggest you check out Emma's Etsy and her blog about pretty bits and pieces of lovely things.

I am so tempted to buy a print at the moment buuuut first I must wait for my pocket to recover from my huge fabric purchase I made this morning. heh

I am sooooo sorry I have been crap for posting this week! I promise I haven't been lazy this time! Christmas is well on its way and I have the biggest family in the world, aaaand I am attempting the impossible by making everything by hand (and buying a few things from Etsy of course). To give you an idea I am only one of 6 siblings and my parents are divorced, remarried and I am also an aunt! (and I haven't even touched on the husbands family) Soo, there you have it, that is my excuse. So starting this week I may be a little slow with entries but I will try to keep it interesting...hopefully!
This week I also have my FIRST real custom order! (Not counting family of course) It is a diaper bag and I am excited to get started. I just have to wait for my fabric order to get here. Which leads me to my newest discovery....online fabric shopping. At first I thought I would hate it since I cant touch it and actually see it in front of me, but boy was I wrong! I think I may have a new addiction. It is so much easier to buy online then make the 20 minute drive into town, which means it is so much easier to spend money!
Is anyone else celebrating a completely handmade Christmas? Any fun and interesting gifts? So far the most interesting gift I am working on is a scary lizard mask "with horns and a red tongue" for my monster loving nephew.

Anywhoooo, I'll plug it again....don't forget my GIVEAWAY that ends on Friday :)

Post 102: Happy Weekend!

Does anyone have any good weekend plans?

I am a HUGE klutz and burnt a good couple inches of my hair messing with the heat unit last night. Don't ask me how I managed to do it. (I'm such a nerd)....soooo I will be getting the haircut that I have been putting off for the past 15 months....yes I said fifteen....

(image from Elzbt's Etsy)

Adam has complained that it is too long anyway. He met me with short hair, and this is the first time in ages it has been long...sooo I am considering short once again...but I feel so much more girlie with long hair! (I love girlie :D) Ooooooh the decision is so hard!

Post 101: Another GIVEAWAY @ Folk Craft!

I. AM. EXHAUSTED.
And have to pry my eyes open just to type ....I have spent the entire day trying to organize my mess...A few months ago I moved my work space from the guest room to the office/living room. I did this thinking that I would be able to keep my eye on the pup and not feel so secluded from the rest of the house when I was working on things.... Bad idea. Don't even try it. My house was looking like a tornado! Soooo, after spending several hours on cleaning and organizing I started working on the fam's Christmas gifts. (which gets me soooo excited) Aaaanywho I think my house is back to square one...I really need to work on this...

Oh and now the reason I started this post in the first place...Not only do I have a GIVEAWAY buuuut my BFF Leanne at Folk Craft is also having a giveaway! This lovely plaid clutch is perfect for fall!

It is so easy to enter! And soooo worth it!

With that I say gooooood night.

Post 100 = Giveaway!

Shew! I finally made it to my 100th post. Who knew blogging could be so much work...(and I am not even that good at keeping up with entries!) So I was trying to think of something somewhat exciting for my 100th so I decided to google "100th post" and most seem to have made a post listing 100 things about themselves...I don't think I could tell you 100 things if I tried annnnd I doubt anyone would want to know that many details. I am exhausted just thinking about it!
Soooo, I decided to do a Giveaway instead! I know I have been promising one for awhile now, but I have been busy. Busy procrastinating, lazing, being a wastrel and eating huge bags of popcorn while watching endless reruns of Law & Order. But I finally did it annnd here we have it!

Post 99: It is the little things...

Chiyi has some totally cute fabric covered buttons. So cute that I just ordered more! Aaand if you are like me and cant seem to make up your mind you can order a little sample pack.

Post 98: Little Things That Make My Day

Miss Bri got her costume on Friday (it only took one day to get there!)! Aaaand she loved it! So of course it made my day. Here she is showing off her super hero muscles. The belt doesn't quite stay on since its a silky material but nothing a good ol' safety pin can't fix. And the tulle could use some trimming (oops)

Annnnd of course an action shot. This one cracks me up! (Thanks to my step-mom for sending me pictures right away!)Another little thing that made my day....

My Morticia Clutch made it in what i think is the most fantastic treasury ever! (sorry for the poor screen shot I don't quite have that down...)
