Post 158: Nine.

I was part of a fun little project at the blog, I Didn't Sign Up For This! Ms. Shelly picked 9 of her favorite blogs and asked each of the writers to answer 9 questions. She asked some fun questions so I suggest you swing by and check it out!

156: Makin' Thangs.

Soooo, besides reading about chickens this weekend I did get to do a little bit of crafting. With everything tossed away in storage crafting has really been put on the back burner. This weekend I completed a small project for Baby's room using cheap items I could find at Alco (since I was too lazy and cheap to travel into town.)
I am pretty pleased with it.
Also, this handsome guy arrived in my mailbox this weekend. I was so excited!
You have no idea how much I love this and how perfect it will be in my soon to be fantastic nursery.
Sorry for the dark pictures it has been pretty dreary here the past few days :(

Post 155: Chickens

I started reading up on raising chickens this weekend. I think my husband thinks I am crazy but I am working on pulling it together. Now if I could only get him excited about helping me build a chicken coop! I am learning that there are so many options on what kinds of chickens to get. And I feel like it may take me some time to pull this together but I am excited either way. Have any of you raised chickens before? I am not looking to eat the actual chickens....just the eggs. I will only start with a few to see if I enjoy it or get the hang of it. Do you have any suggestions, tips, or recommendations?

Thanks!

Post 152: Lookin' Out My Backdoor....soon

I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day! I spent most of mine sleeping and eating cereal (thanks to Baby)...but I enjoyed lazing it up with my Adam. He was sweet and knows me well sooo for Valentine's Day he gave me homemade strawberry jam, homemade apple butter, and some fantastic yeast rolls. Ill take these over a box of chocolates or flowers any day! (since I buy both chocolate and flowers for myself on a fairly regular basis...hehe)

So, today I am taking care of more moving stuff. You know, home insurance, appraisals, all that 'fun stuff'. I cannot stop daydreaming of how fantastic this summer will be! Check out the view!
View from the deck. It faces west for some beautiful sunsets! We will have over 9 acres of this stuff and our land is surrounded by a nature preserve so I have tons of exploring to do!You can't see all the big beautiful windows since the deck is in the way but I will be getting better pictures once we move. I think this is going to be a FANTASTIC place for Adam and I to raise our future children, I can't wait!March 15th it is all ours! Oh, and the street name is Singing Woods. How great is that?

Post 150: Mid Century Inspiration

So, now that the house is soon to be allll MINE. I have been looking for inspiration. It is a late mid-century home and has TONS of big beautiful windows that look out to TONS and TONS of lovely trees and beautiful nature! I think it would be fantastic to stick with some lovely mid century design. I am definitely drooling over all of these....

Post 149: I feel pregnant.

Today has been the first day that I have actually FELT pregnant (minus the exhaustion and nausea). I am only 15 weeks but my stomach definitely feels like I am carrying a cantaloupe sized sack of water around. My pants are tight, my hips and back are feeling sore, and sleeping on my back makes me feel like my uterus is crushing my insides (i don't even know if this is normal...). It is crazy that these crappy disgusting feelings make me so happy.

At 15 weeks Baby is about the size of an apple!

Post 148: Baby-Shower-Zilla

"Baby-shower-zilla" is a word my little sister recently used to describe me. It makes me giggle. I admit, I am a control freak. When I have a vision it MUST happen! I have already gone so far as to make my own invitations because I wasn't pleased with any thing else I found. Etsy does have some fantastic ones but to be honest I don't want to buy something I have to copy somewhere anyhow.

My sister has so graciously decided to host my baby shower in May and me and my pregnancy hormones have been stepping on her toes. The most recent debate is cake vs. cupcake. She says cake, I say CUPCAKES!!!(in an evil baby-shower-zilla voice)

Anyway, I have apologized for being a terd and I told her I will step back a bit. But I still think we need cupcakes...hehe :p

Or we could go with this last option and do it all...

Post 147: SOLD!

Sooooooooo, the house sold last night!!! My husband and I were negotiating over the phone all evening at a Super Bowl party so everyone kept up with our play by play. And after the party was over our crazy real estate agent came over around 10:15pm for us to sign papers and it is now a done deal! On March 15 Adam and I will be moving in to our dream home just in time to get it ready for our duckling!

You have no idea how excited I am.

Post 146: Happy Weekend!

Cupcakes me and the kiddies made! What you can't tell is the cake was blue and purple and they both looked gross and grey, but the kids were happy. hehe.

I hope you all have a happy weekend! Sorry I have been absent this week. My mind is completely occupied by baby these days. I am 14 weeks come Monday and entering into my second trimester! I am happy to report that the insane fatigue has faded and been replaced by complete craziness. My poor husband is dealing with it fairly well!
Hopefully I can bring myself to jump back on the blog wagon next week!
