Circus Party Pictures & The Most Handsome Strongman I Ever Saw.

Birthday pictures, finally!! The last few weeks have been hectic, I am sorry for the delay. Here is Luke's Circus birthday party...or should I say Strongman Luke complete with mustache and chest hair!
Here is the table complete with ringmaster mustaches, handmade clown bowties, and plush beach balls.
The bowties were a hit (with the parents) and SO simple to make. No sewing required. I will be posting a tutorial on them soon!
I also sewed up these cute fabric beach balls from a fun little tutoiral I mentioned here.
Another table shot. I tried to keep things as baby friendly as possible. Instead of pop corn we had Puff Corn, Smarties, and animal crackers.
The cake :)Luke loved it!
We had toys and adorable babies EVERYWHERE. I would say it was quite a success!

Post 232: Fabric Beach Ball! (Tutorial Link)

The Babe's first birthday is in 6 weeks! SIX WEEKS!! I can't believe I'm a mom and a real human being that is turning ONE YEAR OLD IN SIX WEEKS!

Anyway, I have been working on putting together a fun circus/carnival birthday. I think I may be expecting too much of myself. But if I stick to it I too can have one of those fancy shmancy birthdays that I am seeing all over the internet. Sorta.

I had a hard time coming up with party favors considering all of Luke's "friends" are his age and younger. BUT then I realized I have been making these for baby shower gifts:

Why not make the small one for a party favor?? I only need 10...not too bad...at least I am telling myself that. You can find the tutorial at The Purl Bee. (I LOVE THAT BLOG)

Sew it up, slap a tag with my cute baby's face on it. and BAM. PARTY FAVOR.
Do any of you have any other great idea for favors for the 1 and under crowd??

Post 207: Circus Love!

In four days the baby will be 9 months. I have no idea where the time has gone. He may as well be turning 30. I feel like the moments slip by so quickly! So, with that said, this means it is time for me to start planing his first birthday!
Being a lover of elephants, popcorn...

striped straws, apothecary jars full of colorful candy...and bunting...i LOVE bunting...and just all things cute, bright and colorful, naturally I MUST go with a circus theme... (I am going to pretend that my current obsession with the novel Water for Elephants has nothing to do with it...)How cute is that??? Just a little Google image search has tons of inspiration. I just have to find a way to make everything baby friendly since all of his "friends" are about the same age. Anyone have any great party favor/food ideas for a bunch of babies??

Post 57: So, I think I'm going crazy.

Aaaaanyway, I had to drop Gus by the kennel Saturday morning and I cried. I balled. I ruined my mascara and could barely spit out my emergency contact number for the secretary. I tried to hide the fact that I was a big baby (I wouldn't take off my sunglasses) but it was obvious. And I broke down in the car for about 5 minutes crying like a baby. At that moment I realized I am a complete nut. Annnnd there are certain times of the month I should just lock myself in my house and not allow society to be exposed to my nuttiness.
As soon as I quit being a huge nerd Adam and I went by Sonic for breakfast, and the card machine isn't working! And since I am the only person in the world who NEVER has cash....they gave us our food for FREE! It was only $10 worth but hey, free is free!
Later, Adam and I met my Mom and Step-Dad in St. Louis. We went to the awesome Zoo which is always FREE (and #1 in the nation). I wouldn't recommend going on a weekend for obvious crowdage. Then we all spend Sunday (my birthday!) acting like nerds at Six Flags. (Adam hates it when I ask him to do things like this...)
I rode the Batman coaster first thing and became very disoriented. I realized I am officially too old for that stuff. Sooo due to hotheadedness and a headache I stuck to the more mellow rides....the ones you see little kids and old people on....hehe

I still had a blast. :)

Anywhoooo, I am hoping to throw together another little giveaway in the next week or so...Sooo keep checking back!

Post 55: Happy Weekend!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

This image cracks me up....Clown graffiti....genius! (found here)
Tomorrow morning I drop Mr. Gus off at the kennel (I am hoping this goes well). It makes me kind of sad and I am a bit hesitant but it is at the vet and I hear it is supposed to be good so I have my fingers crossed. Then, Adam and I are off to St. Louis where I will be spending my 25th birthday at Six Flags! A bit nerdy but what can I say? I am still a kid as far as I am concerned....hehe....

Post 52: Fiesta!!

Soooo I have been bad about posting on here the past few days...Truth is I have been pretty busy being lazy. And for me being lazy is an important task from time to time. With that said I should warn all of you that my 25th birthday is creeping up! (Feliz cumpleanos tooooo meee!) I should be excited, or worried about getting old...or something, but honestly I am a bit apathetic about it. Although, I am somewhat excited about my trip to St. Louis this weekend (my mom will be meeting us there so it will be a well-behaved weekend....maybe), buuut putting puppy Gus in a kennel for the weekend makes me feel too guilty to be too excited about it. With that said this is what I want you to get me for my birthday (July 26th)...heh...

I am in love with this handwoven scarf ....mmmm
and this cute flamenco necklace...

And these totally yummy lemon drop earrings....

annnd these little banners are perfect for a fiesta! (which is everyday en mi casa) they match these awesome crochet bangles that i heart...

annnnnd isn't this just too cute?

Oh, I could go on forever but I have already wasted enough of my morning dreaming of all the things I would love to have. The grass is asking to be mowed and Gus has made it clear I am not paying enough attention to him, so I am off! Good day!

Post 38: The Greatest Show On Earth!

Hehe....I didn't get to go (since I'm 600 miles away), but I think this little guy had the best Birthday EVER, so I had to share....

The family photo. My brother Wylie, Katie, and of course Aidan! If you cant tell Wylie's shirt says "this is what cool looks like" hahaha....
How many parents do you know who would sport clown make up all day? I cant say I know many. I love my family they crack me up. Oh I am so disappointed I had to miss out!
